Sept. 12, 2014
Dear Parents,
Our first full week of school has gone by so quickly. The mornings just seem to fly by. We are still in the process of getting our schedule together. Our Monday, Wednesday, Friday class has divided into small groups and they are working out very well. I hope your child is enjoying the start of this preschool year as much as we are.
Thanks to the Darke County Sheriff’s Dept. for coming out and sharing with us this week. Your child’s DNA sample should be kept in a cool, dry place and will keep indefinitely. They told the children your “underwear” drawer is a great place
Our schedule for the month is:
Thurs. & Fri., Sept. 18 & 19 Tri-Village Rescue (Coming here at 10:00)
Thurs. & Fri., Sept. 25 & 26 New Madison Police Dept. They will do a bicycle safety program and hand out helmets to all the children. Please take your child’s bicycle to the fenced in playground at east end of the school. If it is raining, take them to the auditorium, just down from our room. If your child comes every day they should bring their bicycle on Thursday only. The obstacle course is set up for only a few at a time, so if you can’t get your child’s bicycle here don’t worry, we’ll share!!
Thurs. & Fri., Oct. 2 & 3 New Madison Fire Dept. (Leave at 9:00)
Please make sure your child wears their red T-shirt for all field trips. We are in need of helpers for these days.
We still have several children who have not turned in paperwork. We will be sending home a note with what you are missing. If you cannot find your missing papers, we can get you another copy.
Just a Reminder: We have a child with peanut allergies in our classroom this year, so please keep that in mind when sending in birthday treats. Thank You!!!
If your child buys lunch or milk, please make sure you send in lunch/milk money. The cafeteria will only allow a child to charge 2 times.
Book orders are due on Friday, Sept. 19. Please make sure checks are made out to me as I send in one check. Here is the web address if you choose to order online. We get a free book for each online order placed. https://orders.scholastic.com/H7WZZ Thanks!!!
Our schedule for next week is as follows:
Phonics: We will meet the Letter Uu. Uu says u, u, u in umbrella.
Numbers: We will meet numbers 2. We will be counting pennies every Friday, so please make sure your child has their pennies up to date. We will be at 7. Thanks!!
Art: We will be making 911 crafts. Please send in an empty toilet paper roll for one of our art projects.
Have a great weekend spending time with family and friends and enjoying the beautiful fall weather God has given us!!
